Lance 300: The Wallet [Past, Present & Future]

I. The Past

One month ago.

It was a sunny day, a very very hot day. It is the orientation week for the freshies. While being in a Student Council, I hold the responsibility to handle them for their first week here. I only came there to set up all the technical devices needed for the next slot, until I went out after finishing all of them.

While wandering around the foyer of the hall, a taxi came by. A woman, about 40 years old, a boy, and probably her son came out of the taxi. But, the mood turns melancholic in a sudden, as I saw the boy had his right hand wrapped with a white cloth. His arm was fractured. I remember what one of the lecturers said about a new trainee that will come here, but might be late for some days. This is all because one week before, he had an accident in his hometown.

As I was the only one at the foyer, I offered myself to assist them to register her son to the institute. I escorted them all the way to the HEP, the Financial Department, the Koperasi, the Dorm Management, and finally, his room, located at the second floor on the last block.

When we went out to escort the boy, something terrible had happened. The woman's wallet was gone!

I start to feel panic already, as they are from Sabah, far away from here. Another thing is, the boy will have another operation tomorrow regarding his fractured arm. So, we split up and searched on every place that we visited previously. I walked around, asked every lecturers and staffs I met, and gone around the institute for three times.

It is 4.30 pm, and my co-curricular meeting is about to begin soon. As I run back to the hostel, I found both of them at the foyer of the hall where they were dropped off just now. Then, I tried to convince the woman that the wallet will be found soon. She said to me that she can still report it to the police, and she can make a new identity card.

My tears began to fall. I never expected to meet such a strong mother, that is willing to sacrifice anything just to make sure that her son is here. They are about to go out again and stay in a hotel waiting for tomorrow's operation. Placing my Red Crescent hat on my head, I shook their hands tightly, and went to the meeting with tears falling.

During the meeting, I still can't concentrate. I'm wondering how will the woman go back to her hometown with no identity card on her side?

It was until, the dorm management team called me outside. They found it, at their office.

I was glad, that I can't hold my tears anymore. All my prayers for the wallet to be found was granted. They even called the woman just now to have the taxi turn back to the institute and redeem the wallet.

I went back to the meeting again, and received a SMS. "You are a good senior. XD"

That is my first time in my life, I experience this tight bond between a junior and a senior.

II. The Present

Recently.

A week ago, while waiting for flight to Kuala Lumpur at Miri Airport, I went to an ATM machine, and withdraw some money. Unfortunately, that is the worst day in my life. The ATM card got "swallowed" by the machine.

I was petrified. I'm going to KL only with the cash I have in my wallet.

In the whole time in KL, I was supposed to do some shopping spree, but it turns out to be the survival of the fittest. The cheapest are taken, and low quality items are acquired. The worst trip to KL ever, but...

I met someone whom I really wished for long...

P/S: I've redeemed my card after came back from KL. That was the worst shopping spree ever. ==

III. The Future

Next year.

Semester 5. It is the beginning for the final phase of a senior. Moving out from dorm.

Beginning next year, we had enough of wasting electricity, internet line, and water supply from the dorm. It's time to find a house, and move out, where we had to survive for 2 years in order to finish the course.

Temptations come as I tried to save the money from the bank to go into the wallet. Gunplas, handphones, gadgets, gizmos,... everything is tempting. Despite having about four thousand ringgits for each semester, all goes off wasted for fees, foods, and more. It's really hard to control the financial. Still, as long as plans are in place, proper plan execution is possible.

Lance 299: Behind the Mask

To commemorate Michael Jackson's 2nd death anniversary, I decided to do a third short story based on one of his posthumous song, "Behind the Mask".

To note again, these short stories will be posted on my deviantArt account every 1st and 15th on every month (twice per month). Each will be composed by different themes to avoid boredom. After most of my edits got taken down in dA due to copyright infringement, I realize it's now time to do my own original work.

Here is the cover for the third short story. This time, it's not me who designed the cover, it's one of the AM Admins, Tsukiko Hihara a.k.a Tsu-chan! ~ ^^

The concept of the cover is a girl wearing a Noh Mask, where it is the inspiration by the lyrics writer to create the song. "Behind the Mask" is originally a song composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, a member of the Yellow Magic Orchestra for a 70s Seiko watch commercial. For MJ, this song went unreleased since his album "Thriller", over 25 years due to legal issues.

The story revolves around the triangle love between two guys, and a girl - Ron, Ren, and Rin. The girl, Ran, lied in order to keep both together with her, while causing doubts and confusions to the two. How will this conflict resolve?

Lance 297: Sweet-Sucker

After the success of my first short story, "Double Pwned", I decided to do a second short story as the fans' demands keep going on. :3

Here is the cover for the second short story. This time, it's in color! ^^

I should took 2 days to make this cover, but extended to 3 days due to a power shortage happened when I was about to scan it. =.="

Some did ask me, why pink? It's to show the antonym of the previous story, which were focused to boys.

This time, it will focus on girls. ~ =D

The story revolves around Akasya Iro, a girl who is a fan of sweets and consume them on all meal courses. It tells about her life, which she only befriends two other girls, where one of them passed away mysteriously on the night before. Iyori Chiba, her friend, can't take the fact that her "soul sister" (the deceased) had gone away from her, and Akasya comforts her by inviting her to Akasya's house. How will Akasya comfort Iyori?

Lance 296: Love at Your Own Risk

I'm sorry if my entry this time might cause some uneasiness or might offend any couples who are in love right now. It's just a collaboration of numerous experience around me about having a couple while studying. Among the things important to have a love life in this situation, is your wisdom to manage your time, manage your couple's emotion, manage your finance, and much more. In conclusion, I did not stop anyone from having a couple, it's just that, make sure you care for your couple well, and towards yourself as well. Read the following post with an open mind, and you may skip the post if you want to. Comments are always welcome. ^_^

So, you might be guessing what am I gonna talk about today? Right, just watch the title, "Love at Your Own Risk". Well, the focus of the topic is the love among teens who are still studying, either in school, or currently in colleges or higher institutions. Why do I feel to discuss this topic? This is because, me, myself, is a teenager studying in higher institutions, and most of all, to share the experiences of some of my friends who have experienced such love life.

To be frank, I once been in a love life. But actually, I did it at a very bad timing. By the time I fall in love, and declared it, I never think of the risks first before even confessing. Yes, I stressed out here, love do have their own risks, if done at such a young age. The scenario that can be seen today, many couples start to grow like mushrooms pop out after rain, from the teens in the university until as young as a primary school student. If you don't believe me, go to any social network such as Facebook and such, and you will witness this scenario by your eyes.

Here are the four main risks which I've collected from all my own and my friends' experience. They are:

1) Prolonged depression

"I wish I was never in love with her/him."

This statement often appear, especially when someone is having a breakup. The prolonged depression from the emptiness in the heart, causes a person to be less social to the others, and prefers to be on the solitude path for the time. Some even caused a much worse situations, such as murders, suicides, and traumas. These are all formed based on three emotions - loneliness, hatred, and jealousy.

2) Decrement in academic achievements

"Since I fell in love with him/her, I got a C for the first time in my life!"

In class, it is recommended to switch off phones to concentrate to what your lecturers/teachers saying in the front. From my observation, some are still breaking this rule, all thanks to the technology of Short Message System (SMS). An argument or a sweet chat might happen on the SMS session, but what's similar to these two situations is, you are no more paying attention to the teaching session, and fail to absorb the knowledge given by the lecturer/teacher. Due to this, last minute studying often became their way of study due to their free time wasted chatting with their couple. Last minute study = Higher chance to fail.

3) Finance and time management problem

"Should I bring her to a dinner?"

Seriously, guys always have this risk in their mind. Treat his girlfriend or not? The factors which may hinder the guy to impress his girlfriend are finance and time. Let's look at the financial aspect first. To impress a girl, a guy has to buy her some gifts, treat her at a dinner, help her to buy her item on wishlist, etc. For time, these guys have to abandon their assignments in order to spend their time with the couple for the rest of their life.

4) "A Solo's Temptation"

"I can't let her go off me, just because I just whistled to a sexy promoter!"

A guy/lad won't going to have a hangout with other guys/lads who still hold the title "single". And that means...

No more flirting other charming girls/guys, since you have one.
No more big glomps when eating, since you have to mind your manners.
No more excessive crazy shouting when an awkward event happen, since you blushed all the time.
No more laziness in doing exercises, since you need to look fabulous.
No more having Maria Ozawa's photo in your PC or phone, since you might get a "perv" label.
No more... etc.

As a conclusion, this statement, which applies to the young generations who are endeavoring in higher educations, remember: "Love at Your Own Risk". The time you have at the university should be spent wisely to achieve a better future for yourself, your family, and the community. Unless you have the adrenaline to try it out, bring it on! But, equip yourselves with the knowledge to manage your love. ~ =P

Lance 295: Double Pwned

Since my disappearance from the FB world about a month ago, I have decided to resume my march on doing short stories. Lots of titles appear in my mind, and it's really hard for me to choose one. Inspired by the people I've met before, I made some short stories that are close to the slice of life, especially among teens.

The short stories will be posted on my deviantArt account every 1st and 15th on every month (twice per month). Each will be composed by different themes to avoid boredom. After most of my edits got taken down in dA due to copyright infringement, I realize it's now time to do my own original work.

Here is the cover for the first short story. What do you think of it? I got out from my usual drawing style, and done the eyes as in traditional Western drawings to define the term "first try". (first try in short story composing) ^^"

The story is titled, "Double Pwned", or in correct spelling "Double Owned". The plot of the story is inspired by the film "Sucker Punch" that I watched back in April. Just looking by the title, you might have guessed this short story is based on DotA. So, I recommend you to have a DotA player by your side when you're reading this, or read this article to found out the mechanism of this game:

The story revolves around Kyo, a DotA player better known as "Noob-Killer". He's in a dilemma of choosing to accept a duel by an expert noob challenger, or date out with his girlfriend, Christine. Christine, who is depicted as a "Martyr", who sacrifices everything in her life just to make Kyo as her own idol.

How will Christine's affection with Kyo goes on, despite Kyo seems to dump her alone?

Lance 294: Two Complete Cycles

HISTORY OF A BLOGGER BOY

I've began to blog when I was in Form 3 back in 2005. It was on the mid of May, and we entered the topic "Blog" for our computer club. At that moment, I began to take interest in using Blogger, after being shown simple steps by our teacher.

As a computer savvy by that time, I manage to complete the first post of my blog, complete with basic widgets and designs under 30 minutes, while others are struggling to decorate their first post. When I went table to table to see their posts, some are struggling to type using the keyboard, some are searching pictures on the net, and made the post into a "Tumbler" (posts to spam), and some added colors to the text just like the signboard to enter a circus, colorful like clown's hair.

But despite their "effort" to make their post colorful and have more picture, they have lack of time to add the widgets (clocks, chatboxes, etc.) In fact, I manage to advance to basic HTML-coding while they add the widgets. Not to brag, but seriously, I feel like I work 3 times faster when it comes to blog-building. ~ XP

After 3 months of blogging there, I began to lose interest. Fortunately, on the next year, I began my comeback post as early as 1st of January. I kept blogging on and off, until Form 5, I turned it off.

Graduating after SPM, I went to Labuan Matriculation College. By that time, I was addicted to Zedge.net. But, since access to the site was blocked in the campus, so I tried to access all websites I ever browsed before. Until I stumbled at Blogger, I resume my path. In coincidence with the Euro 2008 by that time, I posted reviews on the matches in Malay language.

After getting the offer to go to Sarawak Teachers' Institute. I left Blogger again. Until one moment, when I browsed some profiles at Tagged, many of them had blogs. Moreover, I also posted some blog posts at Tagged, and thought to move them all to a permanent blog. That became the starting point of my making of a permanent blog. I deleted all my past blogs in order to not mess up my Dashboard.

On 9th April 2009, Keiichi's Hornet Crest was born, with my first post explaining about myself.

All subsequent posts until the 26th post were transferred from my Tagged blog.

This is it, my first post on 2 years ago, on 9 April 2009. (Click the picture below).

I began to take interest in it by beginning the blog with a normal "Minima" design. Until the 100th post, the design is changed, and created by myself, which is the layout you are seeing now. =3

My posts all revolve on my real life, and also some on animes I watched. Until it came to 2010, where I was late by a week to celebrate my blog's first anniversary:

213 posts in one year, I can't even imagine it... Here's the belated birthday post (Click on the pic):

Now, 2 years had passed. And now, I manage to catch up with the date. This is the 294th post, so this means I only do 81 posts on the 2nd year. Perhaps it is caused by my entrance to the degree level, that made me lack of time to post at the blog. Well, at least I still concern to update it here today. ~ XP

All I want to say now is:

"Happy 2nd birthday to my dear bloggie. ^_^"

Right now, I'm still stuck in the middle of assignment struggle, with only 3 left on the list.

Because of that, I've been gone for almost 3 weeks since my last post about Tsunami in Japan.
And recently, there had been an aftershock in Japan, and a tsunami alert is issued.

Lance 293: Pray for Japan

It's been nearly 2 weeks I haven't updated here.

and sorry for not informing that, I was on a 2 week hiatus to relax myself from all my problems.

And recently, on 11th March 2011,

An earthquake with Magnitude 9 had been triggered kilometres away from the east coast of Japan,

and causes tsunami which crashes badly at the east coast of Japan,

and also some parts of the world.

Even though I can't go to Japan now to help for humanitarian aids,

But, all I can do here is to keep giving encouragements from a distant...

They shall never lose hope, nor giving up their lives,

Lance 292: Careless . Care Less

Been busy and slacking at the same time,

That was one big consequence that lead to this....

I failed the 2nd Statistics quiz, such an unexpected result to me,

since it's seldom for me to fail...

Still, despite the bad result of 13/35,

It teaches me not to Careless, and not to Care Less.

Careless refers to careless in formula,

While Care Less refers to less caring to re-check the result.

All I want that time was to finish, without even re-checking.

"Usaha lebih gigih lagi!"

That covers up the fail score I got.

The task will be to deliver a 5-minute factual speech.

I kept thinking and thinking on what topic should I do,

and to be unique from the others,

I decided to go on nature.

But, something comes to my mind,

when I remembered this stupid frog, Keroro Gunso (In pic above),

To make it sound amusing and funny,

It would be interesting to try delivering a speech,

on fascinating facts about frogs. ~ X33

Lance 289: Nois Emina (Episode 3)

Parental discretion is advised.

      Nois managed to take down the four guards in a snap. I really can't believe my eyes to see she shown her powers one after another. But, despite that, there are still more guards waiting inside the HQ. As we entered through the chambers one by one, parts of my memory during Swarm's service start to linger in my head. What made it weird is that Swarm didn't even place any of his guards in each of the chambers.

      Suddenly, we heard a voice coming out from nowhere.

      "Welcome back, Kai. I didn't expect that you managed to defeat my best four thugs easily. You may wonder, where are the other guards? They are way weaker than those four trump cards I have. So, I sent them off by offering them with lifetime supplement. They agreed, and left the place just like that."

      Swarm's just using them just to achieve his main goal, to be the strongest topping the chart. With money and power, he had all the freedom he have to acquire and sent off troops for himself.

      I countered, "What did you gave them?"

      "Oh, I injected some arsenic into their lunchbox. They may see the fried chicken I prepared is tasty, but the special ingredient will bring them forever to their own dreamland," Swarm's voice answered.

      "Son of Lucifer! I will never forgive what you have done to those innocent guys!" I answered in a mad tone.

      "They must never know the secret behind my troop organization. Once they left Swarm's village, the lunchbox will be their last moment of joy in their life. You were lucky that I was being harsh to you, that I didn't give the lunchbox to you."

      Nois looked at my furious face, and she barely spoke anything. Her tears formed in her innocent eyes. She began to imagine the troopers falling down one by one after sharing the lunchbox with their family. The faces of an old grandmother, a pregnant mother, children with their faces covered with dust, and also a very young infant sleeping in the cradle.

      The others died one by one mysteriously. Fall down one by one. Except for the baby. The baby still happily sleeping in the cradle, while the others were suffering their moment of death by the hands of Swarm's arsenic.

      Nois suddenly raises her hand, and casts a spell.

      "I'm gonna fight you, Swarm!" said Nois.

Lance 286: Nois Emina (Episode 2)

      The meeting with Nois has totally made my day. She is very cute, really fits for such young age. Her attire, seems to glow, even in the dark. The white gown, with lolita shoes and thigh-highs, all white in attire. Such a fair skin she have, that I assume she's never been going to tan herself at the beach. Her beauty really amazed me, that I decided to join her journey.

      It was 7 in the morning, and at this time, I would have been at Swarm's HQ to have a shooting practice. But now that I lost my access card all because of that boy, I had nothing to do than just following Nois all around. Then, we began a conversation.

      "Nois, how old are you?"

      "5 months."

       "Impossible! You should be a baby back then!"

      "I was born, with an uncontrollable rate of growth, because of love and happiness. The more people love me and make me happy, I'll turn into a kid. But if I'm lacking of it, surely, I'll be a 70 year-old oba-chan."

       "Are you an alien or something?"

      Our conversation paused for a while, as I saw someone running towards us. It was the boy who drooled his saliva on my card back then. My anger starts to fill into my blood veins, and I'm ready to unleash them anytime. As the boy gets nearer, my left knuckle is ready to make a punch.

       However, I heard the same noise again from before. When I turned right, I saw Nois playing an instrument, which sounds irritating. I can't stand the irritating sound, and I fell down on the ground. Then Nois said, "A fist on the boy, and I won't assist your journey."

      I was really confused with her statement, and I had to just follow her orders, since she is the only one I rely on now. The boy came to me, with a sad face, and said, "I was punished badly by my mom for stealing. Because of that, she won't allow me to go home if I didn't return the card back to you..."

       I laughed really hard after listening to his confession. Feels like Satan is assisting me in my laugh. That boy finally got a lesson to it. I began to deny and pretend to not listening to his words. He kept crying and crying, and begged me to forgive him. I think for a moment, and got an idea.

      "I may receive the card again, if you give it to Swarm, had him to fix it, and confess to him that you steal my card. Understand?"

      The boy nods, and asked me to follow him to Swarm's HQ. Nois just sits on a rock, and watching two of us from a distant. From her expression, I know, something bad might going to happen. I'm just staying to be confident, and continue my mission to gain Swarm's rep back again.

      There goes, I arrived at the barbwire fence again. I went to Swarm's HQ together with the boy. As we tried to enter, some of the guards are blocking our way. The boy then showed the card which had been damaged due to his saliva. One of the guards then lifts his hand, and punched the boy to a wall. That muscular guard really made a big crack on the HQ's wall just by punching the boy towards it.

      I began to ask, "Why did you do that to him. You guys have no mercy?"

      One of them answered, "There is no mercy if you are in Swarm's territory. All you need, is keep winning, and never lose your HP to 0."

      "You guys are nuts!!" I began to show my punch, but I was recoiled to the wall first. One of them punched me to the wall, as what they did to the boy. Nois just stands there, without any reaction.

       "And you little girl, want to have some playtime for tonight? Four Big Bros will take turn each night, don't worry."

      Nois began to emit something from her finger. Her mouth slowly moved to say some magic recital. She points her finger, and aims on the eyes of the four muscular guards. In a flash, they all turned blind. Nois raises her hand, and begin to search something inside her long hair. She grabbed four pairs of eyeballs, and scatter them away in particles. It was the eyeballs, or the four guards.

       "I hate perverts like you all filthy four guys."

Lance 284: Valentine Rice?

Well, hello everyone! ^^

14th February, a very synonym date in a lover's dictionary.

Yeah, you know it, it's Valentine's Day.

But to some of those who might sound sensitive to use the word above,

I had an alternative:

"Happy Spread the Love to Couple, Parents, Siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Grandmas, Grandpas, Mom-In-Laws, Dad-in-Laws, Friends, Relatives, Classmates, Batchmates, Schoolmates, Neighbors, Roommates, Village Heads, Co-Workers, Bosses, CEOs, Ministers, etc. etc. etc. & Everyone in the World Day"

Happy now? No more sensitivity. ~ XD

Right, where was I?

Oh yeah, about the Valentine Rice, it's actually a special menu, sold on cafe from 7-10 pm only on today. Luckily, I managed to get a taste on it, but, it's just a normal fried rice anyway. Just a package to attract people to eat ~~ =w=

Well, here's the Valentine Rice Combo! ^O^

Nyehe, the menu is actually not as bombastic as KFC's combo. ~ XD

Still, it's really interesting, since most of the foods are related to heart shapes.

And that includes the "air bandung" (cordial drink) which is pink in color. ~

Here's a closer look on what's on the plate:

You can see that the rice is shaped as heart, and so does the nugget (tempura).

In fact, the cordial drink, the one in glass just now tastes really sweet.

I can say this meal does match the concept of Valentine.

And for that limited time, it can be obtained only at RM5.

Very affordable, huh? =3

But sadly, all those beautiful food,

had to go inside the mouth in the end....

Lance 283: Nois Emina (Episode 1)

A normal day, a boring day, ah, what a day. It's a random, and normal morning. 2 weapons, 2 armors, and 2 vehicles are ready to wait for me to go for a war. Yeah, this might sound absurd, since weapons are prohibited to be personally owned. But, a tough man, by the name Swarm, is supposed to go, and guide me going for war today. He is also the one who kept all my weapons, so that I won't get busted by the cops.

I just took a normal, half an hour bath, and ready with my camouflage armor. It's a daily routine for me, to train doing jobs to gain money, and in the same time, gains stamina, energy, and strength as I grow. It's all made by the click of a hand. My weapons are all small, about 80 pixels or something, and sadly I can only use the strongest one. The ones which are weaker than the strong ones, all are left in the cupboard, just for exhibition.

Moving on to Swarm's HQ, I'm readily equipped with all my current tools, and ready to begin the usual roster. But, as I tried to enter Swarm's HQ, everyone stared at me in a different manner. As if they never knew who am I, they didn't even show their cheesy grin upon me. All of them shown a frowning, and dull face.

As I entered through the first entrance of the HQ, I came across a locked automatic door. Blah, what's the point worrying? I still have my access card with me. I put my hand into the pocket, and there is no feeling of my card in the pocket. I start to become anxious, I began to seek for them in my armors. My God, I lost my access card.

So, that explains the strict reaction from the members of the HQ. Then, one of them patted my back. I turned around. I turned blackout.

"Chloroform? Ungaah!!!!"

I opened my eyes, and realize, I'm now outside of the HQ, with all my weapons confiscated. I felt defenseless at that moment. So, I tried to go back to my home to seek for my card. However, I realize, the house was sacked. All my previous neighbors turns out to not knowing me at all. In a sudden, I received a call from Swarm. He said, "Never come back without your card in your possession! Your life will be miserable forever without it!"

I fell down the ground. Feeling helpless, and feel that my life is now empty. I left the village owned by Swarm, with a very broken heart. The life in Swarm's HQ, is really like a robot. When you lost the access card, you'll completely lost your possession to your weapons. But, just as I am outside the barbwire fence, I saw a boy, much younger than me, holding the card happily and covers it with his drooling saliva.

The boy licks the access card happily. It is known that, the card won't function anymore when it's wet. I began to get furious as the boy is the one who destroys my life. I didn't even care anymore about kindness by that time, all I want is justice! I am deserved to have a home!

I went back into the fence, and trying to get the boy. Suddenly, I heard a very irritating voice came into my ear. My ear really can't stand it, and I can see Sandman pouring sands to my eye. It was really a pain, and I fall down to ground again, screaming in pain. The boy didn't even feel anything. Only I experienced it.

Then, I woke up in the middle of nowhere. And I saw a little girl beside me. Then, she begins a chat.

"Are you OK?"

"Yeah. No sweat, 'lil girl."

"Glad to hear that."

"What's your name, may I know?"

"My name is Nois Emina. Call me, Nois."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Kai."

"Nice to meet you too. Shall we depart?"

"No, let's sleep under the stars."

"Alright. As you wish."

Here are some details of the song, adapted from Final Fantasy Wiki:

And when I browsed for videos from the song, I came to a comment (by clankbot9) on one of the videos regarding this song...:

Lance 274: Sleepy Sunday Sunshine

Well, after fulfilling a sleep riot on Saturday that took almost 12 hours (12 AM to 12 PM), I decided to complete most of my works on yesterday midnight. But in the end, I end up sleeping while doing my work... =3=

Here comes today, woke up with my webcam still on ~~

My panda eyes began to appear... =3=

While on that morning, I met my three partners in crime ~ X33

And I seem to broke the fansign rule. 3 names in a row ~ XDD

Kaito, Yume & Mafuyu, partners in crime ~~ X33

Well, I did have some silly chats regarding morning hair that morning, and I took a bath while they were chatting. ~ XD

And here it is, 20 minute after. ~ ^3^

Kaito: It's Sasuke. ~~
Yume: Duck butt hair. X3
Mafuyu: Black shirt!! ^^

Answer: It's L. XD

While they were shocked to my answer, I already prepared to go out to town. ~ ^^
And guess what, I got to eat Chickalicious @ Marrybrown today! ^_^

Lance 273: LovePhobia - A Review

One of my Blogger friends her had just released a one-shot manga with the title, "LovePhobia".

Meet the manga-ka, Jonnalyn Cabigting, or her pen-name, "Ayu-chan", from the Philippines. ^_^

The synopsis can be read in her post (CLICK HERE)

Well, from you all readers' view might seen this as an ordinary fan-made doujinshis.
But remember, "Never judge a book by its cover".

If you read a beautiful book, without a proper storyline, what's the use? ^^

Basically, Ayu-chan had made a really great effort to finish this one-shot manga. Though I myself do have some talents to make these, but I don't have the rights to tease others' works, since I also need to improve myself too. Of course, I really enjoyed reading this, since this is a great first attempt to be a manga-ka. =D

And as a reader, of course there will be reviews and critics regarding the manga. First of all, don't feel down, because I made a feedback as a reader. Since I know, as you said, it can't be compared to a professional's work. But, the storyline can be compared. (Even most fan-made works nowadays are just disrupting young generations minds... except to those who are serious in this career like Ayu-chan. ~) XD

Well, I just give 2 "Nice Points" and 1 "Need Improvement Point". =D
(No hard feelings, Ayu-chan? ~ ^^)

NICE POINTS

1. Action speaks louder than words.

Some of the parts in this manga had been done in SD (chibi) modes to liven the emotion. Despite to show cuteness spoofs, it is actually a way to show the readers, how over was their expression or reaction on something. Most popular mangas does apply this to their works. ^^

2. Unique main character's personality.

Out of the mangas I read so far, Miko Higuchi (Miko) might be among the unique girl I explore. As said, Miko is a girl who is trying to reverse what she says comparing to what she thoughts, and adding some insults to it.

It is unique, since some girls did this in order to delay their confession to the guy. Miko does have a feeling on Itsuki, but it's been too hard for her to confess, because she is afraid to love (LovePhobia). She has the defect because she is afraid from being rejected.

NEED IMPROVEMENT POINT

Dialogue flood.

Sometimes, less is more. ^^
Less dialogues, but embedded with words of a deep meaning shall leave an effect to the readers.

It's obvious on Page 9.

Not to say that it made me dizzy, but sometimes I missed some lines that might be vital to the storyline. ^^
Hope next time, this part will be improved. =D

Well, this is my feedback on the manga you made, still, everything has their own weaknesses and strengths.

This review is made also for myself to learn and study the important aspects of a manga,

Lance 271: The First Lesson

Tutorial of English for Undergraduates, asked by our lecturer, Mr. Camillus Ong.

"MIND YOUR LANGUAGE: The First Lesson"

- Before Watching -
I always felt like I'm being among the not-so-fluent speaker in English. All the scattered use of grammar had sometimes made me to lose my confidence in speaking English. I might be good in writing, but not in speaking.

- After Watching -
Turns out that there are many more outside have their own problems with English. Some are on pronounciations, some on grammar, and some may be like Jamila, who can only speak Urdu, and especially, the catchphrase of Juan, who barely speak any English at all.

"Por favor?"

So, there is still a chance for myself to improve my own English proficiency.

- Problems encountered -
Some parts with the laughs covered some of the dialogues by the casts in the series. I had to use my headset in order to listen clearly on what they actually said. Plus, another obvious problem, is Miss Courtney's talking speed. The speed may had not defeated the speed of light, but the speed is not so slow enough for me to catch what she said.

- Areas Forgotten to Present -
One of Ali Nadeem's catchphrase, "Oh Blimey!" causes a confusion.
Did he actually meant, "Oh, believe me!"?

Well, that's the review on this episode for now. And special to Mr. Camillus, here's a spoof on my favorite scene that I posted on my 270th post.

Dialogues are similar to the ones in the episode, but, revived in a spoof:

Such as this one, a comedy show introduced by our ELE lecturer, Mr. Camillus Ong.

"MIND YOUR LANGUAGE"

Season One of "Mind Your Language" focuses on 10 foreigners, with different backgrounds, and different proficiency level in English learning English at a London school. The class is taught by Mr. Brown, an English man whom his credibility is doubted by Miss Courtney, the headmistress.

The X-factor of the series is located in its humor, where students often mispronounce English words, and features several stereotypes according to their nation of origin.

Well, even after watching the first episode - "The First Lesson" had made my laugh-box active all the time. At most times, I laughed since the way they pronounce the words are stuck on their respective accents.

On the next post, I shall make a review on the first episode, and focusing on my favourite character, Ali Nadeem, since he's the one who made the most funny mistakes in the series.

Before signing off the post, here's my favourite scene in Episode 1, Season 1.

Mr. Brown asked Ali to make a sentence using "You are", but turns out that Ali misunderstands the question.

Whew... Ever since yesterday night...

The rain still not stop, for about 24 hours in Miri!
But today, at the moment I typed this post,
I felt relieved that the rain has now stopped.

Ever since 5PM yesterday, the rain had dropped heavily,
Even I had to dry some of my clothes inside instead of outside. =="

What made me freak out is...
That the drain filled up, and flooded outside! =3=

It reached about 1/4 of my ankle.

Lance 264: Soaked in Rain

The terror, and panic hour.

On such a rainy day.

It was on a very cloudy afternoon, yesterday, that I met Mr. Camillus to obtain the first episode of "Mind Your Language." It's actually for tomorrow's (today's) lesson, and it seems interesting to me.

I think I'll watch it when I came back to the dorm, and then, Madam Jannet asked me to lift some of her belongings to the library. Well, which student who doesn't want to help the lecturers? And, there I go, lifting the belongings to the library.

I was exhausted and thirsty by that time, that I went to cafe for some teatime. While waiting for the food to be served, I played with my Sony Ericsson S312 mobile phone.

I directly left after having a meal, and realized it's raining. I rushed back to the hostel, and pick up the clothes. When I came to my room, I thought to give my brother a call. But, at that time...

I realize my phone was gone...

I then rushed back to and fro to all the destinations I've just went, for three times.

Especially the cafe, where I played with the phone.

At first, it seems I fail to found my phone despite calling many times. I searched at the library, and luckily Madam Jannet is willing to help. So does at the Language Department, where I met Mr. Camillus. They are also going to inform if they found it.

I walked back to the hostel with a broken heart... Until...

I made another call to my phone,

and Madam Jannet answered it.

She found it... at the cafe.

But, not her who found it, it's the drink-maker at the cafe who found it.
I actually left it on the table while I was taking my tea.

Huh, it all happened in a single hour, and I really had a panic over it...

Thanks everyone, especially Madam Jannet, and the drink-maker,
for helping me finding my phone back.

Finally, the Brazil fans' grudge against Netherlands were paid off as Spain's Iniesta scored the winning goal for Spain on the 116th minute. The goal, making Spain leading at 1-0 placed Netherlands at 2nd place, and the Dutch again failed on their third attempt to win the World Cup.

But, too bad that I supported Netherlands at the beginning. Until I realised that Spain managed to win against any team (except the first) just with a small amount of goal. During the knockout round, Spain won against their opposing team just with a score of 1-0, and again, the history repeats in the finals.

Congratulations, Spain, and good luck on defending the world champion title in four years!

NOTE:
In 2006, French player, Zinedine Zidane buttheaded on Materazzi, an Italian player, during the 2006 World Cup Final in Germany.

This year, it's Nigel De Jong who made the history. The Dutch made a high kung-fu kick upon Xabi Alonso's chest. Again, it's the final match.

Lance 240: New Cup Holder

Well, it looks like thw World Cup is near to an end. 2 matches left to determine the third place, second place, and thhe winner for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

It was unexpected to see two teams which never had been a champion before. More surprisingly, both teams confronting the champion-to-be were ex-champions. Uruguay and Germany, with two and three times of victory, respectively, failed to grab the World Cup for this year. Netherlands and Spain finally became the underdog trying to carve their name on the World Cup.

Netherlands, with shocking record of beating the five-times champion Brazil, and defeating the first-timer Slovakia, passed through all the obstacles to reach the finals. While Spain, stumbled when confronting Switzerland, however proved their strength after beating Portugal and Paraguay. They even managed to defeat Germany, thus preventing the ex-champions to grab the World Cup.

It's hard to decide, since both these teams had an equal strength and made several shocking victory over the stronger teams. Netherlands can win, Spain also can win. The finals will be held on 12th July on 2:30 am (GMT +8).

Which team will carve the name as the new champion of the 2010 World Cup?

Wow.. it's been a week that I didn't update my blog. A student's life... it's normal with daily business. ==

Well, since we're still in World Cup mode, so, I'll continue with it too. ^^

Just yesterday, the last hope for Asian to win the 2010 World Cup just been knocked out by Paraguay in a penalty shoot-out. After no goals were being scored during regular and extra time, Japan and Paraguay encountered the toughest moment of all. The penalty shoot-out. One wrong shot would cause all to go wrong...

Thus, no more Asian team were left to take the challenge to grab this edition's World Cup.

It's going to be a hard decision for me to pick the winner when my champion choice, the Oranje, met up against the Samurai Blue. Bad luck struck the Samurai Blue as the Oranje scored a goal, while the ball just past Kawashima's (goalkeeper) hand.

After that, Denmark shocks Cameroon as they defeated them with a score of 2-1. With Cameroon's defeat, Oranje became the first to confirm their place to the finals, while themselves are the first team to be automatically eliminated, and the first African nation to do so.

Tonight, another three matches will go on, with Portugal and Spain are the main focus. Can they fix their reputation after respectively defeated and gained a draw?

Few hours ago, we just witnessed another European titan just lost the match against Serbia by 0-1. It was Germany. Many yellow cards were given, and a red card sent Miroslav Klose, Germany's hope to score a goal, out of the field. It seems that the Spanish referee is rampaging mad today, since Spain lost to Switzerland. (0-1)

Another shocking news is the loss of France upon Mexico by 0-2. Though I didn't watch the match, but it seems the weaker teams started to become underground in this World Cup season.

Well, the World Cup titans, France and Germany, as well as Euro 2008 champion, Spain just lost to teams which they can call as "underdogs". What made it worse is that all of them failed to score a goal against the opposing team...

10pm sharp, Malaysian time, Mexico finally began kicking the official kick-off ball during the first match of 2010 FIFA World Cup. The situation was intense, since I predicted that South Africa will win 1-0 against Mexico. What made the match special is, one of the official referees from Malaysia, Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh is present as the fourth referee. Sadly, the camera didn't even catch a single shot of him... facing forward. =="

Anyways, the match ended with both of them tied 1-1. First goal, first yellow card, first corner kick, first goal kick, and first everything.... except the red card. The first red card however, is pointed at one of Uruguay players, Nicolas Lodeiro after obtaining two yellow cards. That was during the match between Uruguay and France, resulting in no goal at all. ^^"

Tonight, 3 matches will be occurring on 7.30pm, 10.00 pm, and 2.00 am, Malaysian time. Here are my predictions... (the time of the matches are based on the order of time stated above)

The heat of the 2010 World Cup is nearly going to be unleashed in less than 72 hours from now. 32 teams, 64 matches. I guess you readers have chosen a team to be supported, and predicted to be this year's champion.

Would it be Brazil? Italy? Germany? Uruguay?

We'll going to see it in a month, so be prepared for the upcoming "World Cup Fever".

I also gained the symptoms of this fever... Since I will be supporting Japan for this upcoming World Cup. For this long, those from the West had conquered the World Cup, since its establishment. Who knows, this year, the East will conquer the World Cup.

As far as I see, (correct me if I'm wrong), the highest ever achievement from an Asian team would be South Korea in 4th place (2002), and Turkey in 3rd place (the same year).

In less than 72 hours, the kick-off will began during the first match between South Africa and Mexico. I can't wait to see how this World Cup will begin it's campaign.

Looks like I'm back to blogging well again. Now, since I'm free for a month, I can continue my blog-designing project. The last time I done it was on February this year. =="

But, I forgot about another thing that I had to endure during this holiday...

My driving test.... ~.~

This morning, my dad became the "instructor" for me using my mom's car. We went to my dad's school, and had a practice on the parking area.

Looks easy. But, for a beginner like me, holding a steering already made me tremble. It's the first time experience of driving a car. Though it's automatic, I had to endure the manual car during the test later.

Well, this morning, I managed to drive the car in a straight line, but I didn't manage to make a turn. If it was in a real situation, my car would already encounter more than 30 accidents. =o="

But, still, it was a good try then. Tomorrow, I'll start my first lesson for the manual car in Mukah's very own driving school. Maybe the instructor would be far more intimidating than my dad. xD

"TURN RIGHT, FOOL!"

"Make a turn!! A 360 degree one!"

"Don't look down! If you do it, you'll crash with the front!"

Ah... Friday finally comes.

Many consider that Friday is the end of weekdays.

And take it as a very good day.

However, today...

Without warning, our institute just encountered a water shortage...

Not just us, but those in the Luak Bay area was affected.

I woke up late today,

and when i was about to open the water tap...

No water came out.

I start to panic, and saw something unusual.

The only place where the water source exist...

...is at the neighboring dorm, 2nd floor.

Without any hesitation, I directly went there...

But, there others came there first.

I have to wait... in line?

Luckily, the water supply was restored 6 hours ago.

As soon as it was restored, I directly went to the toilet...

*shy to say*

Anyways, today's a very crazy experience.

And, that's how I feel if I was at a Bushmen village. ~ XD

One week left, and I'll come home! ^_^

Hey, peeps. It's time for me to revisit an event occurred on last week, the PIKOM PC Fair 1/2010 in Miri. My budget on gizmos for this event is around RM150+. I won't buying much, since I already got some on last year.

I went with one of my mate, who also gone with me last year. We stopped at Bintang Plaza to have a lunch.

We decided to walk on foot to the Miri Indoor Stadium... But, it seems that both of us didn't remember the path to there...

So, we started walking, and... past a junction,...

...and past a Police Station?

When we see the police station, we realized that we had gone to the wrong way. We just arrived at the Krokop area, near Pujut!

Here's a rough map of the actual path we followed...

And, after a long walk... Finally, we arrived at the PIKOM PC Fair...

For this year, it seems that only five to six booths are "really" organizing a "fair". Some others (I won't mention) are performing stock clearance for PC accessories instead of showing new products or gizmos.

Lance 217: Impressions of the West Lake

Kitaro. It's a common name to all people who loves and adores the new age concept of music. My first Kitaro's masterpiece that I ever heard, was Caravansary, often played during poem session, drama performances, and even in past TV Pendidikan clips.

Well, I really love the latest compilation of his masterpiece, called "Impressions of the West Lake". Like his previous works, he loves to insert the calamity and soothing mood of music, in which, according to one of our lecturers, had a uniform beat, or therapeutical beat.

What made the piece of masterpiece special is that, it is performed on a special stage, located on a lake, at Hangzhou, China. Second, another specialty of the music would be the Chinese vocals singing the lyrics for it. The vocals were sung by Jane Zhang in Chinese accent. Her attracting voice, surely had made this song among the most popular one in China, though the music writer is a Japanese. The unvocalized version of the music can be heard from another masterpiece from the same compilation, "Aria Di West Lake".

This music is highly recommended, since it's the latest one from Kitaro so far. ^_^

... all of my collections and loots were gone. All of my efforts since I played it 6 months ago were gone! But, luckily I vaulted most of the collections, and still have the greatest mastery items.

When I check out the hacker's account, I found out that he was a member of the MW Trading Club, where he sells them to make money. All loots are often on sale 501 of a specific loot for $30-40.

So, I don't only consider him as hacker, but also a robber. That's what can I say about him.

Because of that, I officially retired from Mafia Wars the day after. I might play sometimes, but not active like in the past. He destroyed my entire life of being in social site, and because of that, i don't want the history to repeat.

I then removed most of my MW mobs who never talked to me, and left only 5 or 6 left in my Mafia. Since then, my mega-leveling works slowly without anyone noticing.

Goodbye, Mafia Wars. Sweet Memories.

Note about the hacker:
- He managed to help me level up once, did not follow my strategy.
- First page appeared during my revisit to MW is Moscow.
- Job Avtoritet appeared, where Shturmovik is looted.
- He told that he will trade Daily Collections with 100 Shturmoviks. What a fool... 1 is enough!
- His name is close to an Islamic icon, living in Southeast Asia.

I can't login to Facebook!

Oh man... But, there is another way... As long as I remember which e-mail I used, it should be OK ^_^

I gone to Gmail, and logged-in into my account.

However, I also can't login it...

Curiously, I checked my FB profile using my friend's account...

and what I found is...

All datas and infos were erased, including my pictures...

Then, I realize that...

I WAS HACKED... -

What made me surprised is, hours after I was hacked, it added "**m** ***** by itself.
Or is that person's the hacker?

So, I tried my best to regain my accounts, by I couldn't.

Thus, I kept a plan: if both the accounts were not regained, I'll ask my friends to Report Abuse on my profile.

16 hours after that, I tried to ask help from the Gmail team to re-authorize my account. ^_^

And, I managed to get it back. =)

With that, I fought the hacker, and took him out.

VERDICT: I got back my FB account. =)

I was being so happy, and apologizes to those whom "my hacker" harassed.

But, they seem to understand it, so, they put their rants on the hackers. ~

I logged-in again with my FB account, and played Mafia Wars like usual. Hope he didn't tweak something inside it. =)

Lance 214: Rehab

Phew, this assignment mania surely made me feel tired so easily. And because of that, I had an addiction of typing.................

Because of this, I seem feel lack of fun, lack of self-esteem, lack of healthcare...

Being in front of the computer too long to type in the words really made me feel a headache in my head. Because of that, I often sleep too early, and woke up too late, like a 13 hours sleep perhaps.

Unlike before, I might sleep a bit late, and wake up early, and being not overslept, about 9 hours of sleep.

Well, as soon as this assignment attack is over, I think I need a rehab for some time from getting into MS Word and MS Power Point.

Where should I go during the rehab? Facebook perhaps.

Bleh.... XD

"What a lazybone... get back to work then!," my inner had scolded me. So, I had to continue to work now...

I'll be back to a normal blogging world as soon as the assignment attack is over.

Lance 213: One Complete Cycle

Wow, I didn't even realize that my blog is now more than one year old...

As of today, since I start this blog on 9 April 2009, my blog is now 1 year, 1 week old!

So, hereby, I'm gonna say:

"Happy belated birthday to my dear bloggie. ^_^"

Right now, I'm still stuck in the middle of assignment struggle, with only 3 left on the list.

Because of that, you might still see the CNY theme on this blog, and I'm gonna change is ASAP.

I also had a contract with 2 blog users to design their blog, and I may complete them after I'm over with the assignment.

I'm also planning to change my blog design soon. The blueprints are already stored in my file, and just waiting for the time to unleash it. ~

For a bit nostalgia, here's the first post I've made on 9 April 2009, on this blog.

Lance 212: Child's Play

We were given an extra week break after the real holiday last week. Yay, another week at home. =)

But, we had a work to do on that week. So, no oversleep for this week. Awww.... =="

But, I can't protest too much, or else, the teacher's attitude won't accept me later.

Right, as I told you in my last post, this week is known as the School Based Experience, or known as Pengalaman Berasaskan Sekolah (PBS). It is a week where I observe the school and making researches to complete several assignments related to specified subjects. For this semester, I will be focusing more on Child Development and National Education Philosophy (FPK). ^_^

Among the task that I had to do is interviewing the teachers, the headmaster, plus the supportive staff in that school. The other one is, I had to perform a test, known as Piaget's Conservation Tasks, consisting of 3 different tasks that tests the cognitive development of the students.

I'm going to explain more on that later, 'coz I'm now preparing for the last day of PBS Phase I tomorrow. 3 phases will come in Semseter 2, 3, and 4 with different focal subject.

Plus, I'll share with you some of my pictures with the students (I feel like a teacher already), so that you can see how noble the job of a teacher can be.

Lance 211: Plane Lane Tale

Here's a story that I want to share when I was on the way back here.

It was a sunny day, like usual in Miri Airport, and I was in the departure hall, waiting for the flight code MH3553 to be called. I sat there, and reading Chapter 35 of "The da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown. Well, ... accompanying me, would be refreshing Eclipse mint.

(Wait... this sounds like a narrative essay already, but.. go on..)

When I flipped to the next page, I heard a boarding call to Marudi. That's not what I'm takin', so I keep reading that book. Several minutes later, I had to pause Robert Langdon's adventure, and went through the boarding gate. (Don't be mad, Sophie Neveu...)

As I walked outside the gate, and walked to the plane, I saw two planes, one in front, and one on the back. Well, from my experience, I know that plane to Mukah would be on the front one. But, instead, the person at the front of our group went past the front one and proceed to the last one.

I started to feel panic. Did he went to the right plane? Why didn't he take the front plane, the plane which were always used to Mukah?

Anxiously, I chose the seat at the back of the plane and sit down, fastening my belt.

Still, I hope that this plane won't be going to Marudi...

I then asked a woman, next to me, "Is this flight going to Mukah?"

She answered, "Yes."

Phew! I took a deep breath. I asked again, "We always take the front plane for Mukah, right?"

Even the woman feel the same as me. And, I finally understand what happened...

The plane to Mukah is actually located at the center, among 3 planes. Sometimes, the plane to Lawas (which is soon after that) is always departed earlier before, Mukah plane seems located on the front. For that day, Mukah plane seems to be at the last, because Marudi (which always the last) departed before Mukah.

Thus,

USUALLY: Marudi - Mukah - Lawas (departed)

THAT DAY: Marudi (departed) - Mukah - Lawas

Moral of the story: Don't hesitate to ask if you don't feel confident on something.

Lance 210: Return to the Dreamland

Finally, the B.I.G program for this semester is over.

As I gone back to the hostel, many had called me as the "hero" for the program.

I managed to overcome one of my fears, the fear to go to the sea (hydrophobia). I received many encouragements in many forms, from Christine's scolds, Mr. Ranjit's counsel, Camp Commandant Dr. Huang's advice, and even all my friends' cheers, causing me to be confident of myself, and managed to complete the Water and Land task. ^_^

I cried during the reflection session on the last day, 'coz it seems that I'm a first-time camper, and I managed to pass through the activities that was thought as a "torture". Sleeping in a tent with mosquitoes and crawling creeps, is a challenge for my mental. But, I managed to survive.

"Big boys don't cry." What do I care? It's a relief for me that I overcome it. =)

Now, I can go back to the dreamland, and have a happy and peaceful dream. But, the dream won't be meaningful if I didn't involve in the Water task. Since I joined it, now I can go near the shallow water, though I can't swim.

I'll post on our B.I.G camping sooner or later. I'm now back at FB and more post on this will come soon.
